Lake Atitlan, is an enormous caldera that formed 84,000 years ago. It has been compared in geographic beauty to Lake Como in Italy. The hotel is carved out of the side of the mountain. At night, dinner is served "family style" where you sit and eat with people from all over the world.

Mount Pacaya - Guatemala

Pacaya is a live volcano and you can walk right up to the hotspots and thrust a stick in it and it will immediately catch fire. Some people were climbing the side of it even while it was rumbling and spitting out rocks.
