My mom is Japanese and had a little trouble pronouncing the names of her children. As a result, "Sonja" became "Sa-ni-yah", "Erle" became "Ah-Do" and "Sarah" became "Se-dah". Then she added "chan" on the end of each name so that we became "Sa-ni-chan", "Ah-do-chan" and "Se-da-chan". It wasn't until we were in elementary school that my sister and I realized that our brother's real name was not Otto....
